Coach Saintignon's Orange County Magic basketball camp opened this next session with several NBA players in the gym working with Coach Saintignon.
Former Los Angeles Clipper and Portland Trailblazer, Chris Kaman is in camp working out and being evaluated by the Coach for a spot on a Chinese Basketball Association team. The 7 foot tall center also had an outstanding collegiate career at Central Michigan University.
Also in camp is former Brooklyn Net, Jerome Jordan who is in camp for workouts as he works on extending his playing career. Jordan, originally from Janica, has also played in China as well as with several NBA teams including the New Orleans Pelicans, the Memphis Grizzlies and The New York Knicks.
Keeping the pro athlete theme going this week are also Mark Hill and Trey Ziegler. Hill starred at Cal State Northridge before moving on to play pro ball in Mexico with Los Mochis. Ziegler, a point guard out of Texas Christian University is on hand to sharpen his skills in preparation for the step up into the pro ranks.
It is a full week at the camp, made even more special and intensive by the presence of these top level athletes.
Fresh off his trip to China as part of the expansion of Orange County Magic to basketball players and coaches overseas, Coach Saintignon made a month-long trip to Italy and Croatia.
This is not the first time Saintignon has made the trip to the two countries on behalf of basketball, as he has been to both places several times already. This time, his 10th invitation, WBSC invited the coach to Italy to provide coaching to their players as well as scholarship opportunities to come train in the U.S. to anyone the coach thought might be worthy of such an opportunity.
The Coach then went on to Croatia to take part in the Frendagio Basketball Camp. The camp was established by a long-time colleague of Saintignon who years ago invited him to come annually and be a part of establishing and building this basketball camp in Croatia, where basketball is becoming more and more popular.
